If you are a higher rate taxpayer you can reclaim 18% tax from your donation. A £1,000 donation means we can reclaim £282 and you can reclaim £230 so that your gift is worth £1,282 and, after tax relief, only costs you £770. The same applies to gifts of shares. Ask for details
